What you should know about NameDrop
NameDrop is a new feature that allows you, as an iOS 17 user, to easily share contacts.
- This contact exchange works very simply, for example by holding your iPhone against another iPhone.
- Your contact information, such as your name, number and email address, will be forwarded to the other person and you will also receive their info.
- You can also set it up so that you only receive data and no data is sent from you.
- In order to use NameDrop, AirDrop must be activated, namely the category “10 minutes for everyone”. If you do not want to send data, click on “Receive only”.
- AirDrop in the Settings app under “General”.
- The exchange also works with smartwatches from Apple.
- NameDrop is only usable if you are using iOS 17, however, so it should be downloadable on your device.
