Data from an Android smartphone can be transferred directly to a new iPhone. Apple provides a corresponding app for this purpose.
Transfer data from Android to an iPhone: Instructions
Apple offers Android users who want to switch to an iPhone a simple way to transfer data. Through this, you don’t have to manually transfer most of your data.
- To transfer data, you need the app Transfer to iOS. It does most of the work for you and is available for free from the Google Play Store.
- Make sure your Android device is fully charged and the Wi-Fi function is activated. Alternatively, connect it to a charger.
- Connect the new iPhone to the charging cable and switch it on. Meanwhile, hold the iPhone up to your old Android. During setup, click Quick Start and then Manual Setup.
- You may now need to activate an eSIM. Then select the Apps & Data option. Within this menu, select Transfer data from Android.
- You will then be prompted to open the Transfer to iOS app on your Android device. Agree to the terms of use and then click Accept.
- Now you need to agree to the Continue instruction on your iPhone. You will be presented with a one-time code of six or ten digits, which you type in and confirm on your old Android device.
- The iPhone then connects to the Android smartphone and prompts you to transfer data. After the connection is established, you can select the desired data for transmission. The transfer process starts, which may take a while depending on the amount of data.
- The only data that is not transferred automatically is music files, PDFs and e-books. You must add these manually afterwards.
- You cannot use the devices during the data transfer. The progress is displayed on the iPhone. When it is complete, confirm the process on the Android device by pressing Done.
- Then complete the process by selecting Continue on the iPhone. Now you can set up the iPhone and all your data will be available immediately.
