You can block certain mobile phone numbers on your smartphone if you do not want to receive calls from this phone number. How you block a number depends on your operating system.
Block mobile numbers on Android
If you have an Android smartphone, follow these steps to block an unwanted phone number:
- Open your phone app – this is usually indicated by a handset icon.
- Call up your call list. This appears either under the menu item “last” or you tap on the three dots and then on “call list”.
- If the person whose number you want to block has called you recently, press and hold the box and tap “Block/Reply spam”.
- Tip: On some Android devices it may also be necessary to access the settings via the three dots in the menu of the phone app. Then go to “Block number” and you can enter a specific phone number there to block it. Calls from this number will then be automatically rejected in future.

Block mobile number on iPhone
As an iPhone user, follow a similar procedure to Android if you no longer want to be contacted by a mobile number:
- Open the phone app and then go to “Call history”, your favourites or your contacts.
- Find the number you want to block here and tap the small “i” next to the entry.
- Scroll down until the button “Block caller” appears and tap on it.
