The WhatsApp Chat Lock function allows you to lock individual conversations and groups using a PIN.
Block WhatsApp chat: Set up chat lock with PIN
If you want to use the WhatsAppChat lock feature, set up the PIN lock as follows:
- Open WhatsApp on your device. Navigate to your chats and groups. Select either the group or chat you want.
- Click on the name of the group or contact located next to the profile picture. Various configuration options will be displayed.
- Select the chat lock option. You will then be shown the available locking methods. Select the PIN variant.
- Follow the instructions to activate the PIN and enter it. Afterwards, the corresponding chat is locked and access is only available via the selected PIN. In the chat overview, the message preview is no longer presented.
- Caution: Not all locking methods are available on every device. On some, you can only lock chat using your fingerprint or Face ID.
