FIFA 26: Crossplay – the most important information

by Mike

Crossplay in FIFA 26 is an essential feature in online gaming, but it has its downsides due to the issue of cheating on PC. If you want to play optimally, you should generally leave it enabled unless you encounter major problems.

FIFA 26: Things to know about crossplay

In EA Sports FC 26 (FIFA 26), crossplay is possible between players of the same console generation, specifically between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series XS (next-gen technology).

  • Older consoles such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can only play with each other; Nintendo Switch does not support crossplay. Crossplay is available in all major online game modes, including FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), Pro Clubs, Division Rivals, Champions, and more.
  • Important for FUT: There are separate transfer markets for PC, consoles (PlayStation & Xbox together), and Nintendo Switch, as there are more cheaters on PC, which puts PC players at a competitive disadvantage. Therefore, crossplay games between PC and console are possible, but the FUT transfer market is separate for PC and Switch.
  • Crossplay can be enabled or disabled in the settings under “EA Connect.” It is enabled by default so that the player search is faster and more opponents are available. If you have problems with PC cheaters, you can disable crossplay and only play within your own platform, but this will prolong the search.

How to enable or disable crossplay step by step

The step-by-step instructions for enabling or disabling crossplay in EA Sports FC 26 (FIFA 26) are as follows:

  • Start the game and go to the main menu.
  • Navigate to “Settings.”
  • Open the “Matchmaking” or ‘Online’ section (depending on the menu navigation).
  • Find the option “Enable Crossplay” or “Allow Cross-Platform Play.”
  • To enable crossplay, set this option to “Yes” or “On.”
  • To disable crossplay, set the option to ‘No’ or “Off.”
  • Save the setting if necessary and exit the menu.
  • With crossplay enabled, you can play against players on other platforms of the same console generation (e.g., PS5 with Xbox Series XS and PC), while disabling it limits matches to your own platform, which is useful for cheat issues on PC or preference reasons.
  • For consoles such as Xbox, you can also turn off crossplay system-wide in the Xbox settings by pressing the Xbox button: “Settings” > ‘Account’ > “Privacy & Online Safety” > “Xbox Live Privacy” > “View & Customize Details” > “Communication & Multiplayer.” There, you can set “You can play with people outside of Xbox Live” to “Block.”
  • The same applies to PlayStation in the system settings under “Account and Privacy” > “Gameplay Privacy” > “Allow Cross-Platform Play.”

Crossplay is available in these game modes

Crossplay is available in almost all major online modes of the game, allowing players to play against or with each other across platforms as long as they are on a compatible platform (PC, PS5, Xbox Series XS). Crossplay is available in EA Sports FC 26 (FIFA 26) in:

    • Ultimate Team (FUT) including Squad Battles, Rivals, Friendly Matches, Champions, Challengers, Online Draft, Rush, Co-op modes
    • Clubs (Pick-up Games, Friendly Matches, League, Playoffs, Training, Rush)
