You can easily connect an Xbox controller to your mobile phone. We tell you how you can use the two devices and what you need to bear in mind.
How to connect an Xbox controller with your mobile phone
If you have a newer Xbox controller, you can conveniently connect it to your Android device via Bluetooth.
- Hold down the pairing button on the top of the switched-on controller for three seconds until the Xbox button starts flashing.
- First activate Bluetooth on your smartphone.
- There, start a search for available devices. Your Xbox controller should now be displayed. Click to connect it.
- Most games support controller control. However, if this does not work, you can use the app Tincore Keymapper to use the controller.
Connecting the Xbox controller with USB
Alternatively, you can also connect the controller via USB. However, you will need an OTG cable for this.
- Plug the cable into the USB port of your smartphone and the USB cable of the controller into the USB socket.
- Press the power button on the controller.
- Your controller is now connected to the smartphone and ready to use.
- Alternatively, use an Xbox Wireless Adapter, which you plug into the jack of the OTG cable and then connect the controller to this adapter.
