    Toll information Europe: in brief

The amount of the toll is not fixed throughout Europe, they differ from country to country. In addition, it also depends on the type of vehicle and the kilometres travelled in the respective country. We have compiled a small overview of the most frequently travelled countries in Europe.

    • Italy: There are about 80 toll motorways in Italy. The toll is based on the vehicle category and the number of kilometres driven. There is also an additional charge for driving on motorways with many bridges and tunnels. The average toll price for a small car is around 0.07 euros per kilometre.
    • Spain: Except for urban motorways, tolls must be paid on every motorway in Spain. Here, too, the charge is based on the type of vehicle and the kilometres driven. With a car or camper van, you pay about 0.10 euros per kilometre.
    • Austria: If you drive through Austria, you have to pay tolls on every motorway and motorway. Some motorways even have special tolls. You pay the toll as a lump sum for a certain period of time and can thus drive all over Austria.
    • A vignette for ten days costs 8.50 euros, for two months 24.80 euros and for a whole year you pay 82.70 euros by car. This vignette must be visibly attached to your vehicle and can be removed after you leave the country.
    • France: In France, most motorways and motorways are also affected by the toll. By car, you pay around 0.07 euros to 0.16 euros per kilometre, and an environmental sticker is also required. This costs 4.80 euros and must be purchased online in advance.
