Every Samsung Galaxy Watch is waterproof. However, there are big differences between waterproof devices when it comes to usability in water. While some models are only splash-proof, others allow you to go swimming.

Every Samsung Galaxy Watch is at least splash-proof. So if you get caught in a rain shower or the watch gets wet while washing your hands, you don’t have to worry. The following models are also water resistant to ISO Standard 22810:2010, so they can be worn while showering or swimming:
- Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Fit e, Galaxy Fit 2
- Gear Fit 2 Pro, Gear Sport
- Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active 2
- If your model is not among those listed, it is only IP68 rated to protect against the ingress of water and dust particles, but is not suitable for wearing in the shower or while bathing.
Do’s & Dont’s for your waterproof Samsung Galaxy Smartwatch
With an ISO Standard 22810:2010 waterproof smartwatch, there are a few things to keep in mind so you don’t damage the device.
- You can swim, swim and dive with your Samsung Galaxy Watch up to a depth of 50 metres.
- After you come out of the water, you should dry the Galaxy Watch with a soft cloth.
- If your watch has been in contact with salt water or chlorine, you should rinse it with clean water afterwards and then dry it with a cloth.
- Very high temperature fluctuations can damage the unit. You should also avoid very hard, direct jets of water on the watch.
- The Samsung Galaxy waterproof smartwatches are not suitable for deep diving, jet skiing and other water sports activities that take place in deep water or at very high speeds.
