Elden Ring: Re-skilling – how to redistribute your skill points

by Pramith

Reskilling in Elden Ring is an option if you want to change the attributes of your character. This is possible after a certain boss in the game.

Umskilling in Elden Ring made easy

Umskilling in Elden Ring is only possible through the so-called rebirth.

  • You unlock the option after the boss fight against Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon.
  • After the fight, visit Rennala in the Great Library of the Academy of Raya Lucaria. She will offer you rebirth to redistribute your skill points.
  • She charges one larval tear each for the service. The cost does not increase after the first rebirth. The larval tears are distributed throughout the intermediate lands.

Larval tears in Limgrave and Caelid

Find the larval tears here:

  • Hold east at the Place of Grace south side of Agheel Lake in Limgrave until you meet an armed noble. The outfit is just a cover, as it is a rune bear that you must defeat.
  • Similar to Limgrave is the situation in Caelid. The Larval Tear also has a travelling noble, which can be found south of the Place of Grace South Highroad of Caelid in close proximity to a coffin. This is a cloaked troll who drops the tear as loot.
  • There are no other larval tears in Caelid and Limgrave.

Larval tears in Liurnia and the north of the intermediate country

Larval tears can also be found in the following regions:

  • In Liurnia you can farm four larval tears. You can find one of them in the graveyard in the village of the Albinaurics.
  • The next one is waiting for you in the form of a Transplanted Sprout. This one patrols disguised as a giant lobster near three other crustaceans. They stay in a pavilion near the Rose Church.
  • For the last two larval tears in Liurnia, you must first defeat the Royal Knight Loretta. You can buy one of the tears from Pidia, the servant of Caria, for 3,000 runes.
  • Alternatively, you can find a larval tear in the graveyard east of the Caria estate. Touch the sitting ghost to obtain the tear.
  • Southeast of the Windmill Village in the Altus Plateau, you will find the next Larval Tear in ruins on a cliff. To do so, you must defeat the lion guardian, who poses as a wandering nobleman.
  • Mount Gelmir, more specifically east of the place of mercy called the Road of Sin, is next. To do so, defeat the worm-face disguised as a burning zombie.
  • In the Consecrated Snowfield southeast of the Place of Grace Inner Consecrated Snowfield, you will come across another travelling noble. This one is flanked by other nobles. He is a rune bear who drops the larval tear.

Larval tears in the Ainsel and Siofra river basins

Larval tears also await you in the following areas:

  • Visit the Forsaken Merchant at Siofra to purchase a Larval Tear for 3,000 runes. This purchase is possible once. You will find it hidden behind a waterfall in the ruins.
  • In Nokron, the eternal city, five larval tears await you. You will find one by a corpse in a stone house southeast of the city’s place of grace.
  • You can find another corpse with a larval tear in a pavilion just inside the town. Look out for the silver tears raining from the ceiling. You will get the next larval tear from a silver orb in the Sacred Place of Night.
  • You can even get two Larval Tears by defeating the Imitator Tear in Nokron. It is located in the very south of the city.
  • Three larval tears can be found in Nokstella, the Eternal City. The first one you capture from the silver sphere on the bridge.
  • After the bridge you will find two more silver orbs hanging from the ceiling, each dropping a larval tear. Just be careful not to finish them off on the ceiling. The larval tears are otherwise out of reach for looting.
