Tanks were removed from the game in Fortnite with update v21.00 (Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Vibin’) due to balancing issues.
- They were part of the Imagined Order (IO) equipment, which disbanded with Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4: Paradise. Accordingly, the locations where they were found coincided with the IO bases.
- Because the map has changed fundamentally with the new updates, the tank locations no longer exist. These included, for example, the Coney Crossroads or Rocky Reels.
- It is not known at this time (April 2023) whether Epic Games will bring tanks back to the game. We will keep you posted on possible updates.
Take over or destroy Titan Tank in Fortnite
While tanks were still part of the Fortnite arsenal, there were several ways to take them over.
- Once you reached one of the tanks at the locations, you could simply take it over. Only in rare cases they were monitored.
- Further, there was the possibility of finding patrolling IO agents who had a tank with them. The agents had to be taken out before the Titan Tank was free.
- The gunner on the machine gun was easily taken out via ranged weapons or assault rifles. To get to the driver, the tank tracks are destroyed to incapacitate the tank. After that, the tank tracks could be repaired and the tank could be taken over.
- This also applied to tanks that were controlled by players. In this case, it was often easier to completely destroy the tank if the opponent was familiar with the method of takeover.
- Tanks could be destroyed exclusively with the anvil rocket launcher. The driving player also got hit in the process.
