The rules of Jungle Speed are quickly explained. It is a lively card game for two to ten players.
Jungle Speed: The rules clearly explained
Jungle Speed is a simple card game for children and adults aged seven and up. The minimum number of players is two, and a maximum of ten people can play. The rules are quickly explained.
- According to the instructions, Jungle Speed is a very old game and is said to have been played over 3,000 years ago by the Abouloubou tribe in the fictitious subtropical Spidopotamia.
- The game is a card game. At the beginning, there is a deck on the table or playing mat. This is a face-down stack of cards in front of each player.
- In addition, there is a tray, a stack of cards that lies face up in front of each player.
- The pot, on the other hand, is a stack of cards that lies under the totem.
- The aim of the game is to be the first to get rid of your cards. This is how you become the new leader of the Abouloubou tribe.
Duel for the totem: speed wins
At the start of the card game, shuffle the 80 cards and deal them out equally and face down to everyone. The totem is then placed in the middle. The ritual requires that all players bow respectfully to it.
- The dealer starts the game. Now the players, clockwise, reveal one card from their deck one after the other. This card is placed on their own discard pile where everyone can see it. Important: You may only use one hand when revealing the card.
- If two players reveal cards with the same symbol, regardless of suit, there will be a duel. The first to grab the totem wins. The loser has to take their discard pile and that of their opponent, as well as all cards in the pot.
- If there are multiple losers, which can happen, each loser takes back their own discard pile. The winner of the duel then distributes their discard pile and the pot as they wish. It is now the turn of the loser of the duel to turn over the next card in the course of the game.
- There are several special cards in the game that can change the course of the game. For example, one special card is that you no longer have to pay attention to the colors and can instead look at the symbols. Another card prompts all players to reveal their decks at the same time. If two or more of the same symbols appear, a duel will take place again.
- When one person has revealed the last card from the deck, the others continue playing. The winner is the person who wins all their duels and gets rid of all their cards. The game can continue in this way until the last duel has been fought. This way, the ranking of the tribe can be further played out.
