Flint is an important resource in Minecraft, as it is used to craft certain items

Get and use flint in Minecraft

Minecraft offers you various methods of obtaining flint.

  • Flinestone can be obtained by mining gravel blocks. The chance of dropping flint instead of gravel is ten percent. Gravel can be found near rivers, seas, lakes and as a primary block of the ocean floor.
  • You can increase the chance of finding flint up to 100 percent if you use a lucky enchanted shovel for mining. Luck III ensures that you only mine flint instead of gravel
  • Alternatively, you can find flint in chests. These must be located either near portal ruins or villages. Villagers also offer flint as a commodity.
  • Once you have obtained flint in Minecraft, you can craft a lighter from it. To do this, place the flint in the center of the crafting window and also place an iron ingot in the top left corner. You can use the lighter to activate a Nether portal, for example.
  • In combination with a stick and a feather, you get arrows. To do this, place the flint at the top, the stick in the middle and the feather at the bottom in the middle crafting row. Four arrows are produced
  • You can also make a bogner table to train villagers as archers. To do this, you will need two flints in the top left and center, as well as four wooden planks in the spaces below.
