Found a kingdom in Mount and Blade 2: Requirements

“Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord” doesn’t always make it easy for beginners. This applies to aspiring kings and queens who want to found their own kingdom.

  • A kingdom is tied to certain requirements. It is particularly important that you have reached clan level 4. For this, you need at least 900 units of fame
  • Fame is earned in the game by winning battles, destroying bandit camps and, of course, tournaments. This means you have to prepare well to be able to found a kingdom in the first place.
  • You will also need a settlement or a castle. It does not matter how you obtained the land. You just need to have it under your control.
  • If you do not conquer it yourself, you can ascend as a vassal and receive the land as a gift. This process takes much longer than a military conflict, but can sometimes be easier.
  • Finally, you must appoint a governor. To do this, you need at least one companion that you can appoint. The selected NPC will then no longer be used on the battlefield.
  • Attention: If you belong to another kingdom, you cannot found one yourself. To do so, you must first leave the previous one.

Mount and Blade 2: How to found your kingdom

Once you have fulfilled the requirements for a kingdom in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, all you have to do is found it.

  • To do this, contact your governor. You will now be given the option to found a kingdom in Bannerlord
  • You can then specify which laws apply in the regions of your kingdom. This also applies to the culture that you live by. This can correspond to that of your character, for example.
  • At the end, all you have to do is name your new kingdom. Be careful not to put an article in front of the name, as this will be inserted automatically by the game.
  • Tip: Ideally, you should have a large army at your disposal before you proclaim your kingdom. Old conflicts with previous opponents often reignite, which can quickly become a problem.
