PokeMMO is a multiplayer fan game for Pokémon enthusiasts. Trainers can trade and battle against each other in 5 regions
PokeMMO: Multiplayer in focus
PokeMMO is a ROM hack with a multiplayer focus used through a separate launcher.
- The game is based on a variety of Pokémon ROMs and builds on the generation used in terms of story. Within the regions, players can interact with other trainers.
- You can duel with other trainers, trade Pokémon with them and even trade items and money. You can also experience PokeMMO together with your friends. Regular PvP events attract battle-hungry trainers.
- The game does not change the story of the generation used, but increases the difficulty through a level system. The level depends on the medals received.
- Once you have at least four medals, it is also possible to use the Global Selling System. This is a typical MMORPG auction house.
- Furthermore, you unlock the possibility to travel between the individual regions after four orders. This allows you to catch Pokémon from the first five generations.
Five regions in PokeMMO
In addition to multiplayer, PokeMMO features the first five generations and thus the corresponding regions from Kanto to Einall.
- The regions are only slightly adjusted. Many NPC trainers are more difficult and it is possible to catch starter Pokémon in the wild. The discovery rate of iridescent Pokémon has been reduced.
- You can easily use Pokémon from later generations such as Sinnoh in earlier ones such as Johto. All your Pokémon are stored in a single PC system that is used in each region.
- Breeding Pokémon is also possible, but you will lose the parents in the process. This is something to consider before breeding.
- Legendary Pokémon only exist once for each player in each region. The Pokémon depend on the edition and once a trainer has caught the Pokémon, they must automatically accept each duel. This can cause your Mewtwo, for example, to change trainers.
Where to download PokeMMO
PokeMMO can be downloaded from the developers’ homepage of the same name. The programme and the necessary account are free of charge.
- In order to play PokeMMO, however, you need a workingROM of Pokémon Fire Red, Emerald, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Black or White as a base. The Black 2 and White 2 editions do not work.
- For copyright reasons, we do not explain where you can get the ROMs if you do not purchase the edition you want yourself. An online search might help.
- Used Pokémon editions, such as the White, make excellent bases for the ROM.
