The Forest: Installing mods – this is how it works

If you want to bring a breath of fresh air into the survival game, you can install numerous mods for The Forest. In addition to the all-encompassing God Mode, many small adaptations are also possible.

Instruction: Install mods for The Forest

Earlier mods for The Forest were crippled by the developer. However, there is now a new mod that allows for numerous customisations.

• First of all, open the Survive The Forest website. There you will find the modloader you need.
• Select “The Forest” in the first step, in the second step there is nothing to do, in the third step you will find a selection of all cheats. Via “Load More” you can see the complete list. Select all the mods you want here, the info symbol will give you a short description. Then, in the fourth step, click on the download button.
• The Moadloader including all desired mods will now be downloaded as a ZIP file. Open the ZIP file and unzip the folder “modapi_20210818_1.0.5.0” contained in it.
• Now open Explorer and look for the location of your Steam games. Usually the following path is correct: “C:Steam librarysteamappscommonThe Forest”.
• Paste the previously unzipped folder “modapi_20210818_1.0.5.0” here. Then open the file “ModAPI.exe”.
• Click on “Continue” and then on “Browse”. Here, look for “TheForest.exe”, which is also located in the folder “C:Steam LibrarysteamappscommonThe Forest”.
• Confirm with “Continue” you will see all downloaded mods on the left side. Activate all mods and click on the “Start game” button at the bottom right.
• The Forest will then be started with the selected mods. As soon as you are in the game, you can open the cheat menu via the [F1] key and check all cheats there. Some very simple cheats are already activated automatically.
