Steep pass in Fifa 22: How to do it
Execute the Steep Pass in Fifa 22 on your PS4/5 or Xbox One/Xbox Series X in a similar way.
- For a flat pass, press the triangle button on your PS4/PS5. This is also known as the pass key in Fifa 22.
- On the Xbox One/Xbox Series X, the slash key is Y.
- Use the analog stick while pressing the slope pass button in the direction of the player you want to pass the ball to.
- Release the button to pass the ball. Make sure that no player from your team or your opponent is in the line of fire when you pull the trigger.
- Note that Fifa 22 has a Steep Pass Assist set up from the start. Under the “Semi” setting, the pass receiver is automatically selected. The search is based on the selected direction and hardness of your pass.
Other variants of the Steep Pass in Fifa 22
In Fifa 22, there are several variants of the Steep Pass. These include, for example, the precise steep pass, the lobbed flat steep pass and the flat steep pass.
- For a precise pass in Fifa 22, press the R1 button, the shoulder button, and the triangle button (the pass button) at the same time on PS4/PS5. On Xbox One/Xbox Series X, you have to hold the RB button, the shoulder button and the Y button (the pass key) at the same time.
- A precise steep pass differs from the conventional steep pass in that it chooses a more direct alley. The precise steep pass requires some practice. You need a lot of pressure in your shot and a good pass receiver who can also catch this pass correctly. In return, opponents have less chance of catching it with this shot.
- You can also play a shallow, steep pass. This is especially useful when you have to play a ball through a defensive chain. It is then played through an open space directly into the path of your striker. As well as gaps between defenders, it is also a good option when defenders look unsorted.
- For the lofted low cross, press the triangle key twice, i.e. the pass key, on PS4/PS5 and Xbox One/Xbox Series X press the Y key twice, also the pass key there.
