Bosch dishwasher E24: How to fix the dishwasher error

If the error code E24 appears on your Bosch dishwasher, it indicates a blocked pump. Fortunately, you can often fix this yourself and do not need to contact Bosch customer service.

Error code E24 on the Bosch dishwasher: How to fix it

If your Bosch dishwasher displays the E24 error code, you will not be able to wash your dishes. It is probably a blocked pump. Food scraps or small pieces of cutlery can get caught on it.

  • Whenever you work on your electrical appliances, you should disconnect them from the mains beforehand. Otherwise there is a risk of accidents.
  • Afterwards, open your machine and remove the strainer from the outlet of the Bosch machine. It is located in the middle of the tub of the Bosch dishwasher.
  • Now take a sponge and some soap and vinegar to clean the colander. If it is very dirty, a stiff brush will also help to remove encrustations. Often limescale can also contaminate the strainer.
  • Look directly into the outflow. Food scraps or a spoon can get lost in it and lead to a blocked pump.
  • Equally helpful with error code E24 can be a check of your drain hose. If it is kinked, your Bosch dishwasher will not work properly.
  • Once you have eliminated all these possible sources of error, you should check whether the drain hose is blocked. To do this, remove the hose from the machine while holding a bucket under the hose to catch water. Then look into the hose to see if there is any blockage in it.
  • If there is indeed something caught in the hose, you can clean it with warm water and take a wire brush to remove more stubborn dirt.
  • If, after all these attempts, error code E24 still appears on your Bosch dishwasher, you will now need to contact Bosch customer service after all.
