Make your own coffee scrub – this is how

by Flo

You can easily make good beauty scrubs, such as a coffee scrub, yourself. The best thing about it is that homemade peelings hardly cost you anything and are at least as effective as expensive peelings from the shops.

Coffee peeling – how to make the beauty peeling yourself

A coffee scrub is extremely easy to make yourself and basically costs you nothing, as you can simply use the grounds of your coffee for it. In addition, your homemade scrub has the invaluable advantage that you know exactly what the ingredients are.

  • The scrub is made from fresh ingredients and contains no preservatives. This is an added benefit for your skin, as preservatives in particular are often responsible for skin irritations.
  • Although your homemade coffee scrub costs you next to nothing, it is very effective. The peeling gently removes the old skin flakes and improves the blood circulation in the skin cells.
  • In addition, the peeling promotes cell renewal and the awakening caffeine not only works internally. The caffeine also has a stimulating effect on the skin. After the coffee peeling, the skin looks much fresher and feels very soft.
  • Accidentally, the peeling helps against unloved cellulite, as it has a detoxifying effect.
The prerequisite is, of course, that you use the homemade peeling regularly. Two to three times a week you should take the time for the beauty treatment.

How to turn a coffee scrub into a little beauty elixir

The coffee grounds from your morning coffee are perfectly sufficient for your homemade peeling. Alternatively, pour about six to seven tablespoons of coffee powder over hot water and let the mixture steep for about 15 to 20 minutes.

  • You can use the coffee scrub in its original form. If you refine the peeling, you further optimise the effect.
  • You can enhance the peeling effect by mixing the coffee grounds with a little salt or sugar. For a full body peeling in the shower, add a little more salt or sugar to the thigh area, for example. The coarse grains will increase the peeling effect accordingly.
  • For sensitive skin areas, such as the facial skin, use the coarse grains very carefully.
  • It is better to enrich the facial peeling with two to three tablespoons of body oil so as not to irritate the fine skin unnecessarily. Jojoba oil, argan oil, almond oil, pomegranate oil or simply good olive oil are suitable for this purpose.
