Roborock Robot Vacuum: How to “Delete” a Room—Here’s a Trick

by Estelle

Currently, it’s not possible to delete a room on Roborock robot vacuums. However, you can prevent it from trying to enter those rooms.

How to effectively “delete” a room for your Roborock robot

Your Roborock robot vacuum may sometimes misidentify rooms, for example, due to floor-to-ceiling mirrors or glass walls. Currently, it’s not possible to delete a single room from the map. However, you can use a trick to prevent the robot from attempting to clean these rooms.

  1. For example, you can draw a restricted zone on the map around the incorrectly recognized room or the room you want to skip, or place an invisible wall in front of it. To do this, open your Roborock app and tap “Input.”
  2. Then, at the top right, tap the “Edit Map” icon, which looks like a map with a pen.
  3. Select “Restricted Zone” in the bottom-right corner to open another menu where you can choose between “Invisible Wall,” “Restricted Zone,” and “No-Mopping Zone.” The latter can be useful if, for example, you’ve run out of mopping cloths.
  4. Now you can draw a restricted zone around the relevant room or place an invisible wall in front of the entrance to that room so that the robot cannot enter it.
