In order to search for or offer a ride with BlaBlaCar, you must first log in with your account. To log in BlaBlaCar offers you two options
BlaBlaCar – Create account and login
BlaBlaCar offers you two options to sign up on the carpooling platform. One is through your Facebook account and the other is through your email address.
- If you decide to use your Facebook account, the data will be synchronized accordingly.
- If you would like to create an account directly with BlaBlaCar, this is also quickly done.
- To set up a BlaBlaCar account, you first need to enter your email address, first and last name, and date of birth.
- After you have set a password that is as secure as possible, your BlaBlaCar account is ready. As a fully-fledged BlaBlaCar member, you can now book rides or clarify open questions with the drivers. And of course you can also offer rides yourself.
- By the way, by registering you do not incur any costs with BlaBlaCar. You only have to pay for the rides you book.
Log in to BlaBlaCar – how to create an account
Like so many other things, the once uncomplicated carpooling platform BlaBlaCar is now completely commercialized. Accordingly, contact between drivers and passengers is no longer simply possible.
- You can still look at all offered rideshare opportunities. However, if you want to get in touch with a driver, the company Comuto, which operates the portal, first stands in between.
- Only after you have created an account on BlaBlaCar are you allowed to make full use of the carpooling platform. As a member of BlaBlaCar you are allowed to book rides as well as offer them yourself.
- By the way, the name Blabla still comes from the original basic idea. The platform for carpooling was intended to bring together the “right” people to share a ride. This included, for example, the question of how much communication is actually desired between the driver and the passengers, i.e. the blabla level during the ride.
- The idea has been kept until today and for that reason when you register you will be asked not only for the usual standard data, but also for a small profile.
- In addition to a photo, which is desired but not mandatory, you will be asked for various details. This includes, for example, whether you like to talk a lot or whether you prefer to spend the ride in silence. Do you like music during the drive or is it rather disturbing? Are pets allowed in your car or would you be willing to make a small detour as a driver?
- In addition, you may also disclose quite personal information in your BlaBlaCar profile, such as what you do for a living or what hobbies you indulge in. But ultimately, it’s up to you what you want to include in your BlaBlaCar profile and what not. For many drivers and passengers, the focus of interest is probably anyway the financial thought as well as a complication-free ride.
