The Olympic Games 2020 will take place in Tokyo in 2021 due to the Corona pandemic. How you can watch the big sporting event via live stream or on TV from the comfort of your home, and on which dates you can watch which sports and disciplines, you can read here.

Olympics in Tokyo: Olympic Games in live stream and on TV

We have compiled an overview of the live stream offers for you. To watch the 2021 Olympic Games live, you have the following options:

  • ARD, ZDF and Eurosport will broadcast the various sports on TV as well as via livestream. All sports will be available on Eurosport. ARD and ZDF, on the other hand, will alternate and not cover all the events live.
  • The first broadcast will include the women’s preliminary rounds and will take place on 21 July. In that case, ARD will broadcast from 09:05 to 17:00. On the 23rd as well as the 24th, ZDF will take over the TV broadcast. On the remaining days, the broadcasters will alternate daily and will generally broadcast the matches between midnight and 2:00 until 17:00.
  • Time shift: Japan is 7 hours ahead of German time. So if you’re watching a competition at 12 noon, it’s already 7pm in Tokyo.
  • You can also watch the live broadcasts online on the ARD and ZDF websites.

  • Alternatively, you also have the option of watching the livestream via Joyn and Zattoo.
  • On Eurosport you can watch the broadcast of the Olympic Games on free-TV on Eurosport 1 and on pay-TV on Eurosport 2.
