Sending a parcel via Packstation – this is how it works

by Corinna

If you want to send a parcel via a DHL Packstation, it is relatively easy to do so. In fact, it’s even easier to send a parcel via a Packstation than it is to receive one.

Sending parcels via the DHL Packstation

The biggest advantage up front is that you don’t have to register with the Post’s parcel service to send a parcel via one of the DHL Packstations. However, you are subject to a few restrictions.

  • This starts with the fact that you can, of course, only put parcels in the Packstations that are also to be sent with DHL. If, for example, you have a return and a return slip made out to a different parcel service, the DHL Packstation will fail for you.
  • The next important point is that the parcel must be properly franked by you. To do this, you either use a return slip or the DHL online franking. We explain how DHL online franking works.
  • In addition, the parcel must not exceed 60 x 35 x 35 centimetres.
  • If all requirements are met, take the parcel to a Packstation to send it from there. To do this, go to the monitor of the Packstation.
  • To do this, select the “Send” item on the screen. Hold the barcode of the shipping label in front of the station’s reader. Then select a suitable compartment size for your parcel. Place it in the compartment and close it. Confirm the deposit on the screen.
  • For security reasons, you should always print out a deposit receipt immediately or have it sent by e-mail.
