- These days, the term is so popular that Buzzfeed even used it in a headline to an article about cute baby animals in 2015.
- Smol also occurs in combination with the term “smol bean”. The latter refers to all animals or things as sweet and belittles them. Twenty One Pilots singer Tyler Joseph increased the popularity of the term when he once posted “I’m a bean” on Twitter. Fans then referred to him as a “smol bean”.
