TikTok Text-to-Speech: How to have text read aloud in the video

If you record a video with text for TikTok, you can use the text-to-speech function and have the text read aloud. You will have the right settings set up in just a few minutes. We explain how to do this in this article.

Tikok: How to have the text read out to you with text-to-speech

TikTok has a feature that allows you to have a text read aloud from the video. If you have recorded a video for TikTok, follow these steps:

• If you want to use the TikTok text-to-speech feature, then you need the latest TikTok app version.
• Open the app and record a video. Then go to the video editing section of the TikTok app.
• Go to the text function and insert the text. Once you have inserted the text in the video, tap on the text box.
• In the context menu you will now see the option “Text-to-Speech”. Tap on it. If someone is watching the video, the text that appears in the video will be read aloud.
• If this function does not work for you, close the application. Make sure you have the latest version of the TikTok app. Update the app. Repeat all the procedures.

Change read aloud voice: Works only with other tools

If you want to change the default voice of the TikTok read-out voice, you have to use other tools. TikTok does not allow you to change this.

You only have the option of recording your own voice using the voiceover tool. To do this, record the TikTok video and then go to image editing.

• Tap on “Voiceover” in the image editing screen. You will find this under the microphone icon.
• Select the place in the video where you want to insert the voiceover. Then tap on “Record”. Once you have made a recording, you can edit the recording.
• Select different sound effects here by going to the “Sound Effects” button above the voiceover button. If you like, you can combine several sound effects together.
• Also adjust the volume with the volume tool by pressing the slider. Once you have done everything, you can publish your video.
