TikTok: Top up your balance – How much do the coins cost
As with other apps, certain features on TikTok can only be used if you spend real money in the form of coins. How much this costs you depends on the amount and the platform on which you purchase the coins.
- TikTok coins are purchased in two different ways. Through the TikTok app on your smartphone or using the website on a laptop or PC. Note, however, that the coins on the smartphone cost more money because the platform owners, i.e. Apple or Google, get a share of the revenue. - If you decide to buy on your smartphone, navigate to your profile in the app. Use the hamburger button at the top right to go to “Settings and Privacy”. Under “Account” you will find the menu item “Credit”. There you will see the red “top up” button, which you use in the next step to select and pay for the amount of coins.
- You can choose from different coin packages on your smartphone: 36 coins cost 62 cents, 70 coins cost 1.19 euros, 350 coins cost 5.95 euros, 700 coins cost 11.99 euros, 1400 coins cost 23.99 euros, 3500 coins cost 60.59 euros, 7000 coins cost 118.89 euros and 17500 coins cost 299.99 euros.
- On the PC, the coin packages start at 70 Coins and are significantly cheaper than on the mobile phone. For 70 coins you pay 83 cents, 350 coins cost 4.15 euros, 700 coins 8.35 euros, 1400 coins 16.65 euros, 3500 coins 41.55 euros, 7000 coins 83.09 euros and 17500 coins 207.65 euros. In addition to the lower price, you have the option to specify your own amount on the website. Supported amounts range from 30 coins to 2,500,000 coins.
TikTok Coins – Buy Gifts and Promotions
With the coins on TikTok you either buy gifts for other TikTokers on the platform or activate so-called promotions for your own videos.
- With gifts you support other TikTok users financially. Gifts on TikTok are sent either during a livestream or in the comments of a video. The gifts are then converted into diamonds for the recipient, who then exchanges them for money and cashes them out. The payout only goes through when the recipients have received a certain amount of diamonds.
- Gifts can be animated stickers or emojis, for example, which then appear on the screen in the livestream or are displayed in the comments under a video.
- In addition to gifts, coins are also used when you want to promote your own video. You can only find the feature on your smartphone by going to your profile and tapping the hamburger menu. There you will find the Creator Tools menu item. After you have selected this, you will find the Promote option. Here you select a video that you would like to promote on TikTok.
- To maximise the success of the promotion, you also specify the target audience for which the video is to be broadcast, the budget and the time period in which the video is to be promoted. You also need to set the goal of your campaign in this context. You have the choice between more views, more followers or more visitors for your website.
