Valuable Schleich figures: These pieces are worth especially much

by Corinna

Schleich figures are more than just children’s toys, because some of these figures are very valuable collector’s items. If you own Schleich figures, you may even have a real little treasure of your own at home.

These Schleich figurines are especially valuable pieces

The Schleich company has been around since 1935, and since the 1960s, the company has mainly produced the popular figures of the same name. These are mainly animal figures. Smurfs, humans, elves, dragons and unicorns are all part of the range. For some pieces, collectors dig deep into their pockets.

  • Clouch animals from the so-called WWF Collection are particularly sought after. You can recognise these by the fact that the animals are mounted on wooden bases and bear a plaque with the scientific species name. In good condition, you can get around 100 to 150 euros for them.
  • One of the most sought-after Schleich animals is probably the Pinto stallion in the old painting. This 11 centimetre high figure can fetch up to 160 euros when sold. You can recognise the old painting by the fact that it looks slightly washed out and the colour gradients are not sharply delineated from each other.
  • The animals in the Authentics series were probably not produced by Schleich itself, but were distributed by the company. These figures, which are around 5 to 7 centimetres high, look rather clumsy by today’s standards, but fetch around 50 euros each, depending on their condition.
  • Also worth up to 50 euros can be the Beagle figure, which was produced between 1995 and 1997. If you are lucky enough to own a “Super Beagle” in black and white, however, you can even ask between 150 and 250 euros for it.

How to turn your Schleich figures into money

Sleich figures generally don’t bring in a lot of money, but they usually sell well. How much you can actually ask for them depends mainly on the condition of the figure.

  • The most valuable Schleich figures are those that are unplayed and in good condition. Ideally, the typical Schleich flag should also still be present. This is what usually makes Schleich figures the most valuable.
  • To determine the value of your figures, you can search for comparable pieces at online auctions. There are also forums and shops on the Internet, such as the Modellpferdeforum or GASCHer’s Shop, which specialise in Schleich figures, among other things. There you will also find help in determining the value.
  • No matter how much a Schleich figurine may be worth, demand ultimately determines whether you actually get the price you want. Therefore, offer your pieces for sale on as many platforms as possible and show yourself willing to negotiate.
