What is Netflix? Simply explained

by Pramith

The streaming service “Netflix” is often mentioned when it comes to watching films and series online. But many users don’t know what’s behind it. That’s why we’ll show you what Netflix is all about and exactly how the service works.

What Netflix is – Get it explained here

Netflix is a so-called video-on-demand service. On the website you can watch numerous films and series legally.

– In addition to highlights such as Breaking Bad, How I Met Your Mother, Sherlock and House of Cards, you can also find German series such as Dark, How to Sell Drugs Online (fast), Stromberg and Pastewka.

– With Netflix, you always have access to all content, regardless of the amount of the monthly fee. You don’t have to make additional purchases compared to other services like Amazon Prime Video.

– The video-on-demand service is not only available on the computer, but also as a smartphone app and preinstalled on many smart TVs. Find out whether subscribing to Netflix is worth it for you in an additional article.

Movies and series on Netflix

Netflix’s selection is extremely large compared to many other VOD providers. Netflix offers well over 1,000 films and series in its digital video library.

– In addition to well-known international and national films and series, Netflix also offers more and more in-house productions.

These include, among others, “Narcos”, “Orange Is the New Black” and “House of Cards”. Especially with their own productions, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix are trying to stand out from each other.

– Unfortunately, due to the mass of content, there is no ordered list where you can view all of Netflix’s content before subscribing. Once you have created an account, however, you can search for suitable films and series in various categories or rely on the service’s suggestions.

Netflix: These are the costs

The cheapest tariff costs you 7.99 euros per month. The content is streamed in SD quality, access is only possible on one device at a time.

– If you pay 12.99 euros per month, the quality is increased to HD. Simultaneous access from two devices is now possible.

For 17.99 euros per month, the quality is increased even further to Ultra HD (4K). However, you will need a corresponding TV for this. In addition, you can use Netflix on up to four devices at the same time.

– Unfortunately, Netflix no longer offers a free trial month. However, you can still cancel Netflix at any time.
