  • Formerly only for Pro models: Dynamic Island was previously only available for the Pro models of the iPhone 14. With the iPhone 15, it is now also available for the more affordable models
  • Possible uses: Dynamic Island can be used for various purposes. You can use the function to access apps, display status information or use control elements for apps.

Use Dynamic Island on the iPhone 15: Here’s how

Here are some examples of how to use the Dynamic Island function:

  • App access: If you receive a notification from an app, you can access the app directly via Dynamic Island. You can open the notification to read or reply to it. If you close a notification, it is automatically saved
  • Status information: Dynamic Island can also be used to display status information such as the time, battery status or weather. To display the status information, simply tap on Dynamic Island.
  • Controls for apps: The function can also be used to display controls for apps, e.g. for music playback control or control of smart home devices.
  • Settings: You can change the settings for Dynamic Island in the “Settings” app. Go to “Settings” ☻ “Display & Brightness” ☻ “Dynamic Island”. Dynamic Island is activated by default.

Dynamic Island: Set app notifications

To specify which apps are allowed to display notifications in the Dynamic Island, proceed as follows:

  • Open the “Settings” app
  • Tap on “Display & Brightness”.
  • Tap on “Dynamic Island”.
  • Tap on “Apps”.
  • In the list of apps, you can now specify which apps are allowed to display notifications.
  • To activate an app, activate the switch next to the app. To deactivate an app, deactivate the switch next to the app.
  • If you deactivate all apps, no notification is displayed in the Dynamic Island.
