iPhone/iPad: Delete all emails at once

by Mike

You already manage your emails very well with the Mail app on the iPhone and iPad. Find out more about how to delete all messages at once with it.

Delete all emails on iPhone and iPad

Swipe an email on your iDevice from right to left, you can delete it directly. You can also delete several mails at once by tapping on “Edit”, selecting the desired mails and then tapping on “Delete”. However, this takes a long time if you have a lot of messages. With a little trick, however, it can be done a little faster:

  • Open the Mail app and switch to the inbox of your mail account.
  • Tap on “Edit” in the top right corner and highlight the first email.
  • Tap and hold the “Move” option at the bottom. Tap again on the message you have just highlighted and release the “Move” button.
  • Your iPhone automatically selects all mails. On the next screen, all you have to do is tap “Trash”.

Instead of deleting all emails, you can also sort the messages into different mailboxes. Read about how to create your own mail folders on the iPhone.
