Marshall ACTON vs. KILBURN
Both speakers cater to the Bluetooth speaker market with Marshall’s signature retro design. The classic controls (potentiometers) and fabric covering are reminiscent of vintage Marshall amplifiers. Both speakers are available in white and black leather-look finishes and look great.
- In terms of frequency response, both speakers offer a similar range—between 50 and 22,000 hertz (ACTON) and 60 and 20,000 hertz (KILBURN), respectively. The ACTON can therefore cover a wider spectrum and reproduce both lower and higher frequencies.
- The ACTON is wired, so it’s designed for stationary use. The KILBURN features a rechargeable battery with a runtime of 20 hours and a charging time of three to four hours.
- Both speakers have an AUX port for connecting audio devices via a cable.
- The ACTON features aptX technology, which makes the compressed Bluetooth signal sound almost like a CD. The sound becomes more nuanced and full-bodied.
- The ACTON is powered by a 2 x 8-watt amplifier with a 25-watt subwoofer. The KILBURN features a 2 x 5-watt amplifier with a 15-watt woofer.

- The KILBURN is about 100 grams lighter, but with a total weight of three kilograms, that’s negligible.
- The KILBURN is also slightly smaller, which in most cases is just as insignificant.
