You should cancel your newspaper subscription when you no longer benefit from it. However, be sure to pay attention to any cancellation periods.
To cancel your newspaper subscription online
To cancel your newspaper subscription, use the cancellation template from Aboalarm.
- Go to the page on your laptop and select the desired newspaper publisher directly there.
- Then enter your customer number and your address.
- Using Aboalarm, you can send the cancellation directly by fax to the respective publisher. However, this will incur a fee of a few euros.
- Alternatively, send the cancellation yourself. Copy the text and send your notice to the fax number provided.
Cancel newspaper subscription: These are the deadlines
Newspaper subscriptions usually have a contract term of one to two years. The notice period may be a maximum of 3 months.
- So you submit your notice of cancellation at least three months before the subscription expires. The date of cancellation is the date on which the cancellation is received by the publisher.
- If your notice does not arrive on time, some publishers are accommodating and ignore the notice period. If this is not the case, the subscription is usually extended for a further 12 months and only cancelled at the end of this term.
