Depending on which year you were born, you either still remember the game Snake – or you’re just getting to know it now. Because streaming provider Spotify is bringing back the iconic snake.

• “Eat this Playlist” is the name of the new feature on Spotify. It is a hidden game on the platform that has been available since an update in July 2023.

• Just like Snake, one of the first mobile games from the 90s, on Spotify you have to steer a little triangle right, left, up or down that is hungry for morsels.

• The aim is to reach the individual pictures from the playlist in order to eat them. If you succeed in this, your snake will grow. As soon as you touch the screen border or your snake, you become smaller again. Three touches will end the game.

• On Spotify, you can set up a high score in the Snake remake and then even compare it with those of other users.

To play “Eat this Playlist” on Spotify, you need to follow a few steps:

• Open the app and go to your music library or search through it and open any playlist. However, this must contain at least 20 songs.

• Click or tap the three-dot menu and scroll down to “Eat this Playlist”.

• The game begins.
