Oblivion Remastered: Buying a house – Here’s how

by Mike

If you want to buy a house in Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, you can do so in any major city. Provided you have the necessary gold, that is.

Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered: How to buy a house

In Remastered, you can buy eight houses, just like in the original Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. All you need is enough gold and the right contact person.

  • Right in the Imperial City, there is a small hut for 2,000 gold coins right on the waterfront. Talk to Venicia Melissacia in the market district at the Imperial Trade Office to complete the purchase. You will need at least a positive attitude of 50 with her, or try to persuade her.

  • If you would rather live in Bravil, you can purchase a small townhouse there for 4,000 gold coins. Look for Count Regulus Terentius in the great hall of Bravil Castle.

  • In Anvil, you can purchase the Benirus Manor for 5,000 gold coins. To do so, simply speak to Velwyn Benirus in the Count’s Tavern and then complete the quest Ghostly Tenants.

  • Right in the heart of Leyawiin, you can buy a rustic house from Count Marius Caro for 7,000 gold coins. You will find him in Leyawiin Castle in the Council Chamber and you will need a positive attitude of at least 60.

  • If you want to live in Bruma, you can buy a large house for 10,000 gold coins. To do so, talk to Countess Narina Carvain in Bruma Castle, who must have a positive attitude of 60 towards you in addition to the gold price.

  • For a whopping 15,000 gold coins, you can buy a beautiful house in Cheydinhal. All you have to do is talk to Count Andel Indarys in the council chamber of Cheydinhal Castle. He must also have a positive attitude of 60 towards you for the purchase to take place.

  • In Chorrol stands the Villa Hainwacht, which you can buy from Countess Arriana for 20,000 gold coins. Look for her in the great hall of Chorrol Castle. To purchase the villa, you need a positive attitude of 70 and twelve fame points.

  • If you’re drawn to Skingrad, you can take possession of the huge Rosendornhalle for 25,000 gold coins. Talk to Shum gro-Yarug in the wine cellar of Skingrad Castle. The purchase is only possible with a positive attitude of 70 and 15 fame.

  • Note: Every house in Remastered from Elder Scrolls Oblivion can be upgraded as you wish. All you need to do is provide the necessary amount of gold.

Buy a house in Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered: DLC estate

In addition to the houses you can purchase, you can also enjoy four free estates in Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. These are DLC shelters that you unlock through quests.

  • The Ice Spire Tower is a dream come true for anyone with magical abilities. You can get it via the Wizard’s Tower DLC and the accompanying quest, which you start via the deed. The tower is located east of Bruma on Gnoll’s Hill.

  • The DLC The Thieves Den provides you with Dunbarrow Bay, a thieves’ and pirates’ hideout directly below Anvil Castle. You will receive a message about the bay and must then defeat the rabble there to claim the hideout for yourself.

  • If you’ve always wanted your own villain’s hideout, the Etchhohn Hollow from the Vile Lair DLC is just the thing for you. It is located underwater in the south and can be reached via an island in Topal Bay.

  • The Schlachthorn Fortress from the Fighter’s Stronghold Expansion DLC stands majestically in the Colovian Highlands. Drive out the bandits there to become the lord or lady of the castle in the remastered version of Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.
