PokeMMO is a multiplayer fan game for Pokémon enthusiasts. Trainers can trade and battle each other in 5 regions.
PokeMMO: Focus on Multiplayer
PokeMMO is a ROM hack with a focus on multiplayer, which is used via a separate launcher.
- The game is based on a variety of Pokémon games and builds on the story of the generation used. Within the regions, players can interact with other trainers.
- You can duel with other trainers, trade Pokémon with them, and even trade items and money. You can also experience PokeMMO together with your friends. Regular PvP events attract trainers who are eager to battle.
- The game does not change the story of the generation used, but increases the difficulty level through a level system. The level depends on the badges you have earned.
- Once you have at least four badges, you can also use the Global Selling System. This is an auction house typical of MMORPGs.
- After obtaining four medals, you also unlock the ability to travel between the individual regions. This allows you to catch Pokémon from the first five generations and use them in all regions.
PokeMMO: Five regions are available
In addition to multiplayer, PokeMMO offers the first five generations and thus the corresponding regions from Kanto to Unova.
- The regions have only been slightly modified. Many NPC trainers are more difficult, and it is possible to catch starter Pokémon in the wild. The discovery rate of shiny Pokémon has been reduced.
- You can easily use Pokémon from later generations, such as Sinnoh, in earlier ones, such as Johto. All your Pokémon are stored in a single PC system that can be used in any region.
- Breeding Pokémon is also possible, as in the official games in the series, but you will lose the parents in the process. This is something to keep in mind before breeding.
- Legendary Pokémon are only available once per player in each region. The Pokémon depend on the edition, and once a trainer has caught the Pokémon, he or she must automatically accept every duel. As a result, your Mewtwo, for example, may change owners.
Where you can download PokeMMO
You can download PokeMMO from the developers’ website of the same name. The program and the necessary account are free of charge.
- To play PokeMMO, you need a working ROM of Pokémon FireRed, Emerald, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Black, or White. The Black 2 and White 2 editions do not work.
- For copyright reasons, we cannot tell you where to get the ROMs if you do not purchase the desired edition yourself. An online search may help.
- Used Pokémon editions such as White are an excellent basis for the ROM.
