Niflheim in the free Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC “The Forgotten Saga” is a special challenge, which you can make easier with some tips

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Niflheim Mode Tips

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla offers a fresh look at Odin as a character with the Forgotten Saga, repeatedly rushing the father of the gods through Niflheim to find his son Baldr.

  • You reach Niflheim via the hut you built in Hraefnathorp after entering Asgard for the first time in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. You do not have to observe a level limit.
  • In typical Souls Lite fashion, you have to pass one run after another to strengthen Odin and get better equipment. So don’t worry if you get caught off guard quickly in the first run. Hel’s minions are not to be trifled with.
  • Take your time exploring the icy realm. Niflheim offers many secrets and locations that reward you with equipment, skills and side quests.
  • Niflheim is divided into zones with particularly strong bosses. These require your full attention and it’s worth trying out different strategies. Since you can prepare Odin differently for each run, it is worth experimenting.
  • The DLC offers five new currencies that are not just for strengthening and customising Odin. You can purchase mounts, tattoos, ravens and equipment for Eivor in normal story mode, making Niflheim even more profitable for you. You earn more with each run, even if it was a short one.

How to shine in battle in Niflheim

To get as far as you can in each run in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you will need to defeat numerous enemies. In order to succeed in battle, we have prepared some tips for you:

  • Use the time after each run to adjust your equipment and skills. In the beginning, skills that provide a higher drop rate for better equipment and more adrenaline for performing special skills are recommended.
  • If you have problems with the enemies in Niflheim, use weapons with a long range like spears and longswords to start with. This will keep the enemies at a distance and you will be able to react much better.
  • It is advisable to study your opponent during the fight. This will make it easier for you to optimise Odin’s build in the next run. Pay particular attention to the colour of the life bar.
  • It indicates what weaknesses the opponent has. A red life bar indicates that the opponent is sensitive to fire damage, while with a blue one ice causes more damage. Green indicates poison damage and yellow indicates electricity damage.
  • Healing is sparse in Hel. For this reason, look for elk shrines and antlers from merchants. You can heal yourself through these, but they can only be used once.
