If you want to disable the mailbox on your Huawei smartphone, there are several ways to do so. In this guide for all Huawei models, we will show you how to do this and what you need to bear in mind.
Turning off voicemail on Huawei
On Huawei devices, it is possible to turn off voicemail directly in the phone settings:
- To do this, open the phone app, tap on the three dots in the top right corner and select “Settings”.
- Tap on “Calls” and “More settings.”
- To deactivate voicemail, select “Call forwarding.” Here you will find various options:
- Always forward: All incoming calls are automatically forwarded to voicemail.
- Forward if busy: If you receive a call while you are on the phone, it will be forwarded to voicemail.
- Forward if no answer: If you do not answer a call, it will be forwarded to your voicemail.
- Forward if unavailable: If your smartphone is in airplane mode or turned off, the caller will be forwarded to your voicemail.
- If you want to turn off your mailbox, you should deactivate all four options.
Turning mailbox on and off on Huawei: using control codes
Another way to deactivate voicemail on Huawei is to use special control codes in the phone app. These codes vary depending on your network provider:
- Telekom: If you want to deactivate your voicemail, enter ##002#. You can undo this by entering **62*3311#.
- You can also call your voicemail directly by dialing 3311. In the main menu, you can deactivate your mailbox directly by entering the code 73. You can reactivate your mailbox by entering 71.
- Vodafone: To deactivate your mailbox with Vodafone, enter ##002#. You can reactivate it by entering *002#.
- Alternatively, you can also call the mailbox directly at 5500 and deactivate it with the speed dial number 272. You can reverse this by dialing 271.
- Telefónica: The code for deactivating the mailbox is also ##002# with O2. You can activate your mailbox by dialing **004*333#.
- To call your mailbox directly with Telefónica, dial 333. Here you can deactivate your mailbox with 9611 and reactivate it with 961.
