Among Us: Simple explanation of the game

by Tobias

Among Us is a multiplayer game that you can play together with up to nine other players. But with all the tasks, it can get a little confusing. That’s why we’ll explain the rules here.

Among Us: The Crewmate tasks explained

The crew is the one team in Among Us. The crewmates try to complete all the tasks on the map. In doing so, each crew member has a certain number of the tasks to complete in the game and even death can’t stop you.

  • The tasks vary in length. There are short, long and general tasks that bring the crew closer to victory. The latter are given to all members and the whole crew must complete them.
  • The number of tasks is determined by the host before the game. The order in which you complete them is entirely up to you. Just make sure that you keep moving. Otherwise you may be mistaken for an Imposter.
  • In addition, the crew must prevent the Imposters from winning the game. Either by voting them out at meetings or completing all tasks. Just make sure you don’t forget to fix the sabotages. Otherwise the crew will lose the round.

The role of the Imposter explained

The Imposter is part of the crew, but only at first glance. His task is to sabotage the crew and preferably to eliminate it completely. In doing so, the host can determine how many Imposters there are at the beginning of a round.

  • The Imposter has two buttons. One to kill and one to sabotage certain places on the map. This way you can also lock doors and prevent crew members from escaping.
  • After the kill, there is a countdown. You must wait this out before you can finish off the next member.
  • Sabotage a part on the map, such as the reactor, and a countdown will start. During this time, the crew has the opportunity to prevent the end of the game. If this does not work, the round is over. This also happens if there are more Imposters than crew members alive.
  • Imposters also have the ability to move faster using the air shafts. Just be careful not to be seen while doing so. If a body is found or someone presses the red button, a meeting will start.
  • During the meeting, the crew has the opportunity to vote the imposters out of circulation. That’s why you should pretend to do tasks from time to time and get an alibi regularly.
