by Johannes

To make your tourists feel comfortable in Anno 1800 and bring plenty of money into the coffers, you should make some preparations. It is important to take care of the well-being of your tourists

Anno 1800 Tourists: Preparation

Since the update with the Travel Time DLC, tourists also have the opportunity to visit your city in Anno 1800. With the new population level, hotels, restaurants, cafés, bars and production chains are available to you.

  • To save your visitors the hassle of walking to the sought-after eateries and cultural sites, they can conveniently get there with the help of bus stops.
  • To attract more visitors to your island, you need a high city attractiveness. However, before you build the Visitor Harbour, your town must meet this requirement. It costs 400 coins to run the visitor harbour. But the number of visitors that come to your island with the construction of the harbour depends directly on your city attractiveness. Each visitor brings extra money into your coffers.
  • You should build up at least a city attractiveness of 200 before you build the visitor port. This will ensure that enough visitors come to your island and increase your revenue. Also remember to build other attractions such as parks, monuments and buildings to further increase the attractiveness of your town.

Anno 1800 tourists: attractive experience

Tourists represent a new population level. It is unlocked once you upgrade the visitor harbour to a tourist harbour (requires 500 craftsmen). Tourists have many needs and are looking for an attractive city.

  • If you have the Speicherstadt DLC, you should construct new buildings to massively increase the attractiveness of your city. Alternatively, you can also build museums or zoos to attract tourists. The prerequisite for this is that you have suitable modules. You can obtain these modules by trading or completing missions. Remember to also place some ornaments in your city to increase its attractiveness.
  • The iron tower, which is the famous Eiffel Tower of Paris, is particularly impressive and at the same time expensive. This imposing structure is sure to attract many tourists and add a special touch to your city.
  • Next, remove heavy industry buildings and unattractive places from your island and compensate for the loss of goods through trade. Places with pollution and instability like war or rebellions have a negative impact on city attractiveness. Tourists don’t like that at all. Your city should be clean, safe and attractive to attract more tourists.
  • Once you have taken all the necessary steps, you can develop the visitor harbour into a tourist harbour. Tourists are the only population group that does not live with you. Therefore, you need temporary accommodation such as the Grand Hotel.
  • The resort has a capacity of up to 500 visitors and should be connected to the tourist harbour by one or more bus connections. When you select a bus connection, you can see how far the bus connection extends by looking at the green coloured streets. The circular radius, on the other hand, determines which buildings are within reach of the respective bus connection. By having a good connection to the Grand Hotel, you ensure a smooth experience for tourists.
