If you want to change your Fortnite name, you can do this directly via your Epic Games account or via the console account
Fortnite: Change name on PC
Fortnite allows you to customize the display name via your account.
- Log in to your Epic Games customer account. Then click on the icon for your account. Select Account from the subsequent drop-down menu
- Open the Account settings tab. You will see an overview of your account information, including the display name. You must adjust this to change your name in Fortnite
- Below your ID you will find the current display name. Click on the blue button next to it to change the name.
- A window with the title Change display name opens. You can enter the new name there. You must then confirm the change to save the new display name.
- You can only change the display name again after a period of two weeks. So be careful not to make a typing error.
- Note: The fixed display name is also used for the Nintendo Switch and mobile version of Fortnite. You do not need to make any changes directly on the console
How to change your Fortnite name on other platforms
Fortnite is available for many platforms other than PC. The name change works differently for these platforms.
- If you are playing the PlayStation version, you must change your PSN online ID. To do this, log in to the PlayStation Network and go to account management
- Within the account management you will find the Profile item. You can then use this submenu to change your online ID and thus the display name in Fortnite. This is also possible directly via the console
- Attention: You can only change your PSN online ID once free of charge. You will have to pay for each subsequent change. You do not have to wait to change the ID
- If you play Fortnite on the Xbox, simply change your gamertag. To do this, go to your profile picture in the console menu and then to Profile and System.
- You can customize your profile and change your gamertag there. Check the availability and confirm the change. Alternatively, you can change your gamertag via the official page in a browser
