Fortnite in split-screen mode is ideal for team matches on a console. Epic Games offers the mode for owners of an Xbox or PlayStation console. The mode can be activated with little effort.
Play Fortnite in split-screen mode
In order to play Fortnite in split screen mode, 2 controllers must be connected to the Xbox or PlayStation console. Splitscreen is only supported on PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X/S.
- Start Fortnite and navigate to the main menu. Now turn on both controllers.
- The game should now recognise both controllers. The 1st player must invite the 2nd player via their Epic Games account. Now the 2nd player must log in with their account.
- After a successful login, the 2nd player will appear in the Fortnite lobby. The split screen mode is now available in matches. In the main menu and the lobby, the screen is not yet split.
- Further, please note that the inventory is not split in split screen mode. If one of the players leaves the match or if there are disconnections due to the network, the split screen mode will be terminated.
