Play Stardew Valley Splitscreen: Here’s how

by Pramith

In Stardew Valley you can play with each other in splitscreen on the PC, Playstation, Xbox as well as on the Nintendo Switch.

Stardew Valley: How the splitscreen works

On the PC, you can play Stardew Valley via a LAN connection. Up to four players are supported in online and LAN multiplayer on all platforms, as well as in local split-screen multiplayer. On the Nintendo Switch, you can play with a maximum of two players in splitscreen.

  • First you need a controller for each player. As host, you then start the couch co-op round, which basically works just like an online game.
  • Either open a new farm with huts for each player or buy as many huts as players want to participate on an existing farm at Robin.
  • Then you go to the options menu. There you must select the option “Start local co-op” in the Multiplayer section.
  • The remaining players join the game via the start button. For couch co-op, all you need is a version of Stardew Valley to play with your friends on the same screen.
