How to set up channel points on Twitch

  • Open the Twitch website and sign in with your account.
  • Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and then click on “Creator Dashboard”.
  • Open the top left navigation bar and click on “Viewer Rewards”.
  • To activate channel points, click the slider next to “Activate channel points”.
  • Under “Personalise points display” you can give the currency a name and select or upload a customised icon.
  • Click on “Manage rewards and challenges” to set up rewards that viewers can redeem their channel points for.

This is what Twitch channel points are all about

Twitch Channel Points can be collected by viewers of a particular stream and then exchanged for rewards.

  • As a viewer, channel points are automatically credited to you as long as you watch. From time to time, you can also collect points manually by clicking on them. On average, you will receive 220 channel points per hour, and as a subscriber to the channel even double that.
  • In the livestream interface, you will see the number of your channel points on the right-hand side below the chat. Click on it and you will see all the rewards you can redeem the points for. There you can choose one if you want.
  • The type of rewards can be decided by you as a streamer. Popular choices include deciding who to host next, having a say in the content of the stream, or a follow on a social media platform.
