Steam Deck prices – this is what the models cost

With the new Steam Deck OLED, the manufacturer Valve has not only adjusted the prices, but also removed most of the old models from the range. The only exception is the cheapest Steam Deck, which still comes with an LCD screen. The devices are sold via the official Steam Store.

  • At €419.00, the LCD model is the cheapest offer in the store. Equipped with a 256 GB SSD hard drive, this variant is the entry-level model and has been permanently reduced in price following the release of the OLED Steam Decks. All consoles in the store are supplied with a charging cable and a travel bag. You will also receive a cosmetic bundle for the Steam Profile with your purchase.
  • For €569.00 you will receive the 512 GB OLED Steam Deck. Not only is it an upgrade to the LCD version, it is also the cheapest OLED device in the store. With 512 GB, it also has twice as much hard disk space as the LCD model.
  • 679.00 € is the price of the 1 TB OLED Steam Deck and differs from the 512 GB device in the size of the hard disk storage and the non-reflective screen. The travel bag has a removable protective cover that also protects the device outside the bag. In addition, when you purchase the 1 TB model, you will receive an exclusive movie that plays when the device boots up and a skin for the digital keyboard.

This is what distinguishes the LCD model from the OLED model

The prices for the Steam Deck OLED are not only reflected in the higher quality screen, but also in the other specifications, which have all been upgraded.

  • The most obvious change is the screen, which has been replaced by an HDR OLED display. The screen diagonal has also increased from 7 inches to 7.4 inches. The refresh rate of the screen, i.e. how often it updates the image in one second, has been increased from up to 60 Hz to up to 90 Hz.
  • The battery has also been improved. Compared to the LCD version, the battery of the OLED version has 50 instead of 40 Whr, which means that the battery charge has been increased from 2-8 hours to 3-12 hours. How long a battery charge actually lasts depends on the game you are playing.
  • Equipped with Wi-fi 6E instead of the Wi-fi 5 of the LCD model, the OLED device promises better download speed and lower latency. The Steam Deck OLED also comes with a more up-to-date Bluetooth version (5.3 instead of 5.0)
  • The CPU of the Steam Deck OLED is more compact at 6 nm instead of 7 nm, but delivers the same performance as the LCD model. In this respect, the OLED model mainly benefits from the improved energy efficiency of the updated CPU, which is also reflected in the longer battery life.
