If you no longer need your LastPass account, you can delete your account. A LastPass account itself is practical for password management. If you still want to delete it, we explain what you need to be aware of when doing so.
This is how you delete your LastPass account
Before you deactivate your LastPass account, you should make absolutely sure that you have exported the stored data. Otherwise, you will not see passwords stored only in LastPass again. However, you will also be prompted to do this several times during the deletion process.
- LastPass offers a special website for account management. Here you can also have your LastPass account deleted, among other things. Open the page.
- Click on the red “Delete” button to get started. You must still be able to log into your account to do this, so you will need your master password. If the master password is missing, you can have special instructions sent to you by e-mail on how to proceed and then delete the account anyway. However, you will then no longer be able to back up your saved passwords.
- Enter your master password again in the mask that appears. You can also give a reason for deleting your account and make further comments. Confirm your entries by clicking on “Delete”.
- Confirm again with “Yes” that you want to delete your LastPass account. It will then be removed.
