Emirates: What to look out for when checking in online

The Emirates web portal allows you to check in with just a few clicks. To ensure that both check-in and the rest of your journey go smoothly, you should follow these tips.

  • For online check-in, visit the Emirates check-in portal.
  • Here you will need the last name and booking number from your booking confirmation. Please note that any typing errors must be copied exactly as they appear on the booking.
  • Check-in is possible from 48 hours before the actual departure of the flight and can be carried out up to 90 minutes before departure. After that, you must go directly to the counter at the airport.
  • Even though you save time by checking in online, you should arrive at the airport at least 2 to 3 hours before departure, as you will also need to check in your baggage and go through security.
  • With the baggage you want to check in, go directly to an online check-in or baggage check-in counter. Again, you will probably have to queue, but this is usually quicker than the full check-in process at the counter.
  • You will need to check in individually for return or onward flights, unless they take place up to 36 hours after the outbound flight you checked in for.
  • Please note that children under 16 without an accompanying person and groups of more than nine people cannot use online check-in, but must check in as usual at the counter.
