Google Bard is an AI that came out recently and works similarly to ChatGPT. But: What can Google Bard AI do?

Google Bard is an Artificial Intelligence released by Google in response to ChatGPT in March 2023. Since 13 July, the artificial intelligence-powered chatbot has also been accessible in Europe. Google Bard is named after Shakespeare, who was also called “Bard of Avon”, and works with the neural network model Transformer and Google’s language model LaMDA. But what can Bard do?

• First of all, Google Bard works like ChatGPT as a chatbot. You can write questions to it and it will deliver answers.

• But unlike ChatGPT, it is connected to the internet and receives additional information through the internet.

• On a linguistic level, Google Bard works best. It can filter out topics and summarise texts.

• However, current information is also often riddled with falsehoods, so the chatbot should not be believed for everything.

• More importantly, this and other chatbots generate responses based on probabilities. Therefore, information can also be made up.

• Google Bard can thus do similar things to ChatGPT: generate text from prompts, rewrite and summarise text, provide ideas, do programming and minor translations.

Watch out for chatbots

Although Google Bard and other chatbots seem interesting, they are still not a universal tool.

• Don’t believe everything Google Bard answers you.

• Do cross-checks of the given information as well.

• Never use Google Bard’s texts as your own works, as this may cause copyright problems.

• Also, never share private or professional information with Google Bard.

• Generally speaking, use your intelligence rather than relying only on Artificial Intelligence. This can only be a supplement, but not a substitute.
