The Microsoft Edge browser naturally gives you the option to change many settings to suit you best. And it’s definitely worth taking a look at the default settings and modifying them if necessary

Microsoft Edge – how to change the browser settings

Microsoft offers you a very convenient option in Edge to immediately access the browser’s settings. In the menu bar of Edge, you will usually see a star on the left-hand side; if you click on the icon, you will already be in the browser’s settings.

  • Alternatively, you can access the settings of Microsoft Edge by clicking on the main menu in the upper right corner of the browser. In the pull-down menu, then select the “Settings “
  • Go to the main menu in the settings, on the far left, and you will be offered numerous options for customising the browser. If you would like to make Edge your preferred browser, select the “Default browser” option.
  • Under the “Start, Home and New Tabs” option, you can set up your preferred home page, among other things. The tab settings are also interesting. If you choose the option “Open new tab page”, you save time and data volume.
  • It is also highly recommended to regularly delete cookies and the like. You can make the appropriate settings under the option “Cookies and website permissions”. Among other things, you can select whether the browser data should be deleted automatically and in what time frame. Alternatively, you can have only some data deleted automatically and remove the other data manually.
  • The favourites bar is also practical. Click on “Show Favourites Settings” under “Favourites” to activate the Favourites bar and, if necessary, also transfer your favourites from Internet Explorer or Chrome.
  • You should also not neglect setting up your personal profile with Edge. From saving your passwords to payment information to profile settings, set everything up so that you are as comfortable and safe as possible when using the browser on the web.
