Cancelling your tenancy agreement: How to proceed
The easiest way to terminate your tenancy agreement is to use a termination template. When doing so, you should observe the three-month notice period for yourself as a tenant.
- For the cancellation, you can use the cancellation template from Aboalarm. To do this, click on “Cancel now” on the website. Then enter your name, address and e-mail address here and confirm by clicking “Continue”.
- The cancellation text will be formulated automatically. You can adapt it by clicking in the text field. Finally, confirm by clicking on “Next”.
- You can now send the cancellation directly from Aboalarm. It is advisable to send the cancellation by registered mail. This way you have proof that the cancellation has been delivered.
- Alternatively, you can also use the template from deutschesmietrecht.de. To do this, copy the sample formulation and adjust data such as the name and address.
