Try Netflix for free – here’s how

by Pramith

If you want to watch films and series on Netflix, you can try out the streaming service free of charge for a month beforehand. We show you what you need to know about the trial month and how to register.

Try Netflix for free: All important information

Netflix is by far the most popular video on demand service worldwide. As with Amazon Prime, Maxdome and Co. you could previously sign up for a free trial month.

  • In the meantime, however, this has come to an end. If you want to use Netflix, you have to pay for it from day 1. Sometimes even very deeply.
  • Netflix charges 7.99 euros per month for the basic subscription. However, this only allows you to use Netflix on one device at a time and in weak SD quality. The basic subscription is therefore not a real option.
  • For 12.99 euros per month, you can stream in HD quality on two devices at the same time. For 17.99, four parallel streams in 4K quality are possible.
  • Tip: Unlike Spotify, it is legally permitted and technically possible to share the account without any problems. So you can also split the costs by 2, 3 or 4.

Try Netflix: How to sign up

Unfortunately, you can no longer try Netflix for free, but you can reduce the cost for the first month. If you simply select the cheap basic subscription when registering, you will be offered the more expensive standard subscription for the same price for the first month.

  • Open the Netflix website, enter your email address in the appropriate field and click on the “Get started” button.
  • Click on “Next”, enter your desired password and click on “Next” again.
  • Now select the desired model. Here you have the choice between Basic, Standard and Premium. As a rule, the Standard subscription makes the most sense.
  • Now leave a payment method. You have the choice between credit card, direct debit, PayPal or a Netflix gift card.
  • If your payment method has been accepted, your Netflix subscription will begin from now on. If you don’t like the service, you can cancel Netflix at any time.
