You can write messages via TikTok to network with other users. There are a few points to bear in mind

TikTok is known for its videos, but also offers an extensive message function.
- You can view direct messages via the inbox. This can be found at the bottom of the app. You can then view chat histories by clicking on the username of a contact
- There are two methods available for sending direct messages. It is important to check whether the recipients have activated these functions in their privacy settings. You can also specify who can send you messages
- To start a chat, go to your inbox and click on Chat. You will then see the names of all the accounts you can send a DM to. To do this, you must follow each other
- Alternatively, you can click on another person’s profile and click on Message to compose a direct message. Emojis and stickers are available regardless of the device you are using.
- It is also possible to share content via direct messages. This includes videos, hashtags, effects and sounds. To do this, click on the content and then on Share to send it to a contact via the messages.
- Attention: Only TikTok users over the age of 16 may send and receive messages. Up to the age of 18, parents and legal guardians can set restrictions via the escort mode.
